Activities

Guests can cruise on the river at sunset or set off on a number of interesting walks and trails on the property, and also visit the Ben Lavin Nature Reserve nearby for excellent walks and mountain bike trails. Hiking is available in the Soutpansberg and Hangklip Mountains.
Shiluvari, set on 30 hectares of indigenous bush is located on a peninsula of the Albasini Dam and has a wide variety of smaller game species also Crocodile and Hippo, abundant flora and fauna as well as excellent birding opportunities. There is a resident accredited bird guide, who has spent many years studying the area, and he is available for guided tours on a half day or full day basis.
Big game viewing
Apart from the natural beauty and great activities to be found at Shiluvari Lakeside Lodge, guests can also rise early and head off to the Kruger National Park in search of the Big Five game, it’s an interesting 90km (56 miles) drive with entry through the Punda Maria gate.

Other great outings can be enjoyed on the Ribolla Art Route, featuring fabulous works of art and a wide variety of crafts, and the Venda Myths and Legends tour exploring sacred lake and forest, ruins and waterfalls to learn about the mysteries here. Also worth doing is the Baobab meander, a scenic route and adventure where guests can see the largest Baobab in the country, there is also the Messina Nature Reserve, a preserve of over 100 specimens of this amazing tree.
